ORGANISATION OF THE FAL NETWORK

ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTMENTS OF THE FAL NETWORK UNTIL THE WSF 2009

To be able to carry out the agenda of commitments, the following local authorities will be in charge of the impulse of the following tasks, pivoting on two antennas:

- Southern Antenna: Frente Nacional de Prefeitos do Brasil
- Northern Antenna: FAMSI-FONS Català

• Strenghening the relationship with the World Social Forum (WSF)

Representation in the International Council of the WSF by one representative from the North and another one from the South.

• Strenghening the relationship with United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), through the Technical Secretariat of the Commission on Social Inclusion and Participative Democracy (supported by the City Council of Barcelona), and through the participation of the local authorities which are members of the FAL Network on the Commission on Social Inclusion and Participative Democracy and on the Working group on Peripheral Cities, as well as on the rest of the commissions: Millennium Goals, Decentralised cooperation. Nanterre, Office of the Mayor of Caracas, Provincia di Milano and Ente Locali per la Pace have committed to collaborate on this task. However, the presence of UCLG has to be an active commitment of the whole Network.

• Keep developing the FAL Network, extending, opening and diversifying it. Fostering the exchange and link with thematic and territorial networks in the framework of the FAL.

- FAL Europe (Rete Novo Municipio)
- Human Rights in the City: Diputación de Barcelona

To facilitate the network there will be a PROMOTER GROUP, which will be composed by the antennas, by the local authorities cited in the development of the axes and those authorities compromised in the agenda of commitments. This Group will meet twice or three times a year in order to evaluate, plan and exchange the development of tasks.
